I. Am. SO. Excited!!!!!!!!
I’m also struggling to center my thoughts right now so I hope this birthday posts turns out to make some sort of sense.
Today I turn 33 and as usual, I woke up early to pray, read, write and reflect. I wrote and said “goodbye” to my first blog, KandisDavis.com and thanked all those who have read and supported it throughout its 12 years of existence.
And now I’m here! Making my first birthday post on our new website, DexandKandis.com!
If you’re here, that means you probably know me or my husband in some form or fashion so I don’t need to introduce us at this point, but I will say we are SO looking forward to sharing and engaging with you guys!
We hope to build a fun, honest, and challenging space that covers everything from relationships to race, politics to the pulpit. It’s going to get real!
I was talking to a friend about some of mine and Dex’s ideas and she said, “When I think of you two, I think ‘Unconventional.’ A lot of what you two do is unconventional.” Dex and I both appreciated that description and started looking at some of the things we do on the regular and realized we have a lot more to share than we even first thought. So soon, we’ll be writing and talking about those things on this platform.
I hope as Dex and I figure this thing out together first, and then with you, that we’ll all:
extend each other grace
grow to be better people
learn to see things from different perspectives
challenge each other to humility
This is gonna be good!
Aside from launching this blog with my husband, I’m also kicking it up a notch with my business, Wildfire Creative House.
At this point in my life, I have owned 4 business (KLD Media Agency, Triad13, The Letter Inc., including a failed startup, Culture Plug). I’ve learned a lot and I still have so much more to learn about business, but this time, I think I’ve got more clarity, help, and direction than ever before.
I’m looking forward to seeing how things develop and I’m grateful to get my hands into entrepreneurship again!
32 was definitely the year of sorting and figuring out ALL of the newness that came with getting married, quitting my amazing/favorite job, moving, starting three new ventures with my hubby. It’s been busy!
For 33, I’m really looking forward to seeing the seeds begin to blossom from all we’ve planted this last year. I know now, more than ever, how important it is to let Jesus guide every step, especially the small “yeses” and “no’s.” Those simple words can change your entire life.
For us and for you, I’m praying this year is one of clarity, focus, and growth in every way possible.
Thank you for joining us on this new journey!
